In my own words:
After founding West Asheville Dog Walking & Pet Sitting
in 2007 as a logical outgrowth of my love for animals and my desire to
run my own business, I have strived to stay at the forefront of the
fields of pet care, animal behavior, and pet nutrition. I have taken
coursework on Natural Nutrition and
Herbs for Pets at West Asheville's own Appalachia School of Holistic
Herbalism, attended Acupressure
for
Pets workshops with Dr. Erin Husted, DVM at Charlotte Street Animal
Hospital, and I am currently enrolled in an AB Tech Continuing
Education Course for Pet Professionals called "The 21st Century Dog: A Training Course
for Animal Care Professionals, led by APDT award winning trainer Kim
Brophey.
I own scores of pet care books, subscribe to Whole Dog Journal, follow dozens of
pet behavior & nutrition websites in Google Reader, and I blog and
tweet about pet care on a regular basis.

In my clients' own words:
Top Qualities according to
clients: "personable, on
time, high integrity, expert, good value" -LinkedIn
“The only part of traveling I don't normally enjoy is leaving my 2
elderly cats and neurotic dog behind. But I worry a whole lot less now
that I have Karen to look after them. She takes better care of them
than I do. And I know first hand that if any issue comes up at all,
Karen goes above and beyond expectations to make sure that all my
animals are OK. Her number one concern is that they are happy and
healthy. Karen has my absolute confidence and trust.”
-Diana K.
“Karen gets the job done well by being kind to animals and in control
at the same time. She is dependable and someone you can feel confident
that your animals will like."
-Marion M.
"You go above and beyond."
